What's Your Why? Here's Mine.
Whenever one sets out to accomplish anything in life, they need to have a why that drives them. They need that underlining reason that is always there to push them, no matter what obstacles or challenges they may face. Without a why, your chances of success are slim.
That could be for something as simple as doing well on a test in school, or paying off $75,000 in debt to become more financially free and independent!

Preparing is no different. Having a why for why you prepare will help you set goals and stay focused throughout the coming months and years, allowing you to grow your emergency supply.
Here's my why.
The day I became a husband and the day I became a father were two of the most eye opening moments in my life. Becoming a father, quite literally, changed the entire way I viewed the world around me.
Suddenly things that weren't even on my mind before, were now front and center. Those of you who are parents know exactly what I am referring to.
The safety and well being of your child and family becomes your #1 priority.
For me, not only does that mean doing my best to provide for my family in the present moment, but also doing what I can now to help them be prepared for what may come down the road.
When I look at the world around me, I do my best to see the good (and there is a lot of good in the world!). But it would be foolish of me to turn a blind eye to the current and potential negatives that are out there.
That's where preparing comes in. I want to make sure that if anything from a small local disaster to a world wide shtf scenario occurs, I've done everything within my power to make sure my family is taken care of. That is why I prepare.
The idea of something happening where my family is not prepared to deal with it when we could have been if we had made it a priority, scares me.
In the end, I'd much rather never have to use any of the emergency supplies I have. But as I've said before, it is better to prepare and have nothing happen, then to not prepare and be left helpless when something does.
I simply cannot allow that to happen for me and my family.
My family is my why. They are the reason I prepare.
